Our Story

From 28 Students
to a Citadel

A & J Light Model College was founded in September 2010 by Ambassador Kola Balogun with a bold vision — to create a school where every child is educated not just academically, but holistically, morally, and practically.

Starting with just 28 students and 10 dedicated staff members, the school quickly earned a reputation for academic excellence across Ogun State. We grew rapidly — because our results spoke louder than our words.

Today, across two campuses in Sango Ota (Ijoko) and Atan, we serve over 250 students from Crèche through Senior Secondary. We are always innovating, always improving, and always making education fun and effective through good information technology.

The Beginning
Ambassador Kola Balogun founded A & J Light Model School with 28 students and 10 staff — a dream, a building, and an unshakeable belief in Nigerian education.
2012 — 2015
Rapid Growth
Word spread fast. Academic excellence brought more families. The school grew rapidly to 90+ students as our WAEC and Common Entrance results made headlines in the community.
2016 — 2020
Second Campus Opens
A & J Light Model College — our secondary college campus — opened at Ajegunle, Atan, bringing Science, Commercial, and Arts departments to a new generation of champions.
2024 — Present
Going Digital
We launched our digital transformation — online student portal, digital ID cards, assignment submission system, and a brand new website. The Citadel enters the future.

We believe education is a partnership between school and home. Our active PTA ensures parents are fully involved in the school community and their children's development.

Constitution of the Parents & Teachers Association — A & J Light International School
Our PTA operates under a formal constitution with elected officers including Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, PRO, and Welfare Officers. Monthly/termly meetings are compulsory for all parents. The PTA works to strengthen the school community, publicise our achievements, and ensure the welfare of all pupils and parents. Together, we build champions.
